We are a design-driven fabrication studio specializing in custom architectural joinery. The studio collaborates closely with architects, interior designers, and high-end builders to develop highly tailored joinery solutions that integrate seamlessly within sophisticated spaces. We operate as a technical extension of the design team, helping translate architectural concepts into carefully engineered and precisely finished works.

Process

Engineering the Intent

Every project begins with the design and the questions hiding inside it. We sit with the architect and design team to understand not just the drawings, but the intent behind them, then pressure-test every detail for how it will actually be built. Constructability problems get solved on paper, long before they become problems in the field.

Specifying the Material

Material is where a design becomes tangible. We select species, veneer sequence, hardware, and finish to carry the design language through every surface and we're equally at home coaxing refinement from humble woods as we are with the rarest veneers. Nothing is chosen by default; every decision traces back to the drawings.

Building in the Workshop

Fabrication happens under one roof in our South Florida workshop, where proportion, joinery, and finish are held to a single standard. Each component is engineered for the exact conditions it will live in, so that what leaves the shop fits the space as precisely as it was drawn.

Installing to the Last Detail

The work isn't finished until it's in place. Our own team manages installation start to finish, coordinating directly with the site and design team so every element lands exactly as intended. The final fit, the final finish, the final reveal, all carried by the same hands that built it.

Brand Story

The studio grew from the coming together of four partners who each bring deep and complimentary experience. What began as a small shop has evolved into a purpose-driven studio built around a single belief: that we are an extension of the design team.

Each partner contributes a distinct discipline: fabrication expertise, design-build experience, site leadership, and engineering oversight. Together, we rebuilt Kerf Collective from the inside out, not just as a millwork studio, but as a collective of industry professionals fluent in the language of architecture, interior design, and building construction.
